Well its been 8 months since Kayla got admitted to the Children's center. My baby is finally coming home October 1, 2009. She has improved so much since she has been there. She is now doing pivot transfers so its not going to kill my back when I have to lift her anymore to put her in her chair, because she is going to be doing most of the work. I am really excited about her coming home but I am also really nervous too. It has been 8 months since I have had her home and I am so afraid that I am going to do something wrong and mess up. I know we can't just pick up and go anymore like we have been able to do for the last 8 months. But it will all be worth it to have my little girl home with me again.
David and his mom have been awesome in being there and supporting me in this transition. David is also scared but I know we will be able to handle it and we will be fine. I am so excited that I get to take her to church with us again. I miss doing stuff like that as a family with her. Our church has a awesome CP class for Kayla.
Krystal, David's daughter is so excited about Kayla coming home, I know she will be excited to have her go to school with her. And grandma is doing so much to help make the transition go as smooth as possible she has done so much for us I don't know how I can ever repay her. But I know her and she does it because she wants to.
Everything has been so good lately:
We had to have the lift on the van fixed because a bolt broke and we couldn't use the lift at all without this bolt. Well they went ahead and replaced both bolts. Well it was going to cost us 317.88 to get it fixed and we had no idea how we were going to come up with the money. Well last Wednesday at church after choir one of the guys walked up to David and just handed him 20.00; Well then last Sunday one of the ladies handed me 70.00 I was like WOW God is so good and he will provide. So we need 225.00 more to be able to get it. Well our sunday school class is helping with that. Then the Children's center paid the balance so we are going to use to money from our Sunday school class and get her new tie downs for safety reasons. And David's mom gave us money to get her diapers, bibs, and absorbant pads for her wheelchair and her bed. I am so glad things are looking up for us.Well the best part is yesterday we were having them fix the bolts, well we had them look at the remote to see how much that was going to cost us. Well, the only thing wrong with it was that the wires had come out of both ends of the remote, so they put them back in the way they were supposed to go and didn't charge us anything to fix that. Out of the 317.88 we only ended up having to pay 90.00 God is so good I wish I could always remember that even when things are hard and life in NOT so good.
Thats about it on our life for now. Kayla is coming home this weekend so I will post more on Monday about our weekend
God bless and have a great weekend
Love,
Dixie and David
